Root Canal Treatment

Root canal treatment is a treatment to repair and recover a highly damaged or inflamed tooth. Treatment involves removing, cleaning, disinfecting and refilling the damaged part of the tooth (pulp). This procedure seals off the root canal. Years ago, teeth with diseased or injured pulps were removed. Today, root canal treatment saves many teeth that would otherwise be lost.

Root canal treatment is the removal of the small, thread-like tissue at the center of the tooth, ie the pulp.

When the pulp is infected or dies, pus that forms abscesses in the jawbone may accumulate in the root of the tooth, if left untreated. An abscess can destroy the surrounding bone and cause pain.

Treated and repaired teeth / teeth can be used for a lifetime with proper oral and dental care. Because the treated tooth may develop caries again, oral care and regular dental examinations are necessary to prevent further problems.

Visit your dentist regularly for dental cleaning and checks.

Tooth pain is not your destiny.

A pain free future is possible.
